Testimonials

detailed synopses of medical records

Connie reviews and prepares detailed synopses of medical records that can save your law firm significant time with medical record review. She draws upon her nursing experience and healthcare knowledge to provide feedback regarding decisions affecting care of the patient/client in question. This is very helpful in personal injury claims as it simplifies the process of determining what injuries and aggravations are arguably related to an injury incident and which medical conditions can be filtered out as unrelated. I recommend consulting with Connie via telephone/teleconference to hash out the specific goals you are seeking to accomplish, the timeframe she should devote to each and let her go to work!

Legal nurse consultants save time and avoid costly mistakes

The Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC) is a licensed registered nurse who performs a critical analysis of clinical and administrative medical practice and healthcare facts. LNC’s provide invaluable consultation and expertise to attorneys about medical issues. They are experts in medical records review.

With an extensive educational foundation and clinical experience, legal nurse consultants are qualified to assess adherence to standards and practice guidelines applied in the medical profession.

LNCs bring all the expertise of the professional nurse to this specialty practice.

Time-consuming and valuable services are provided

The legal nurse consultant is an invaluable member of the legal team in medical cases. They are highly specialized individuals, uniquely qualified to address healthcare issues in the development of medical cases. Their experience in the healthcare field, coupled with their knowledge of legal issues, allows them to identify and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of medical claims.

The most time-consuming and valuable services that LNC provides to attorneys are the organization of medical records, as well as their review, summary, and analysis.

LNCs may be utilized to facilitate communications and strategies with the attorney to obtain successful resolutions between parties involved in healthcare-related litigation.

They educate attorneys regarding healthcare facts and issues involved in medical claims.

They research and integrate applicable literature as it relates to the healthcare facts and specific case issues.

The LNC is uniquely qualified to organize and sort medical records into useful chronological documents. An organized set of medical records also increases an attorney’s efficiency and productivity.

During the review and summary of medical records, the LNC looks for deviations from the standard of care. Their knowledge of medical records makes them qualified to ascertain if critical documents are missing from a set of medical records.

Once the individual analysis of medical records is completed, all of the summaries can be combined into a timeline, giving the attorney a chronological summary of medical treatment provided by multiple healthcare providers.

This timeline will be used by the attorney throughout the development of the case. It will be used to formulate questions for depositions,  experts, defendants, and various witnesses.

Questions And Answers

I’ve been a Registered Nurse for more than 40 years, in a variety of nursing settings (ER, ICU, Long Term Care, Infection Prevention, and more).  I have been working as a legal nurse consultant since March, 2021, and received my CLNC certification with NACLNC.  I have experience in wound care, elder care, emergencies, critical care, operating room/surgery/post recovery, Medical Surgery, nursing standard of care.  I am able to research questions you might have, and educate you on the medical needs of the case.

Absolutely!   If you have a case that has merit (I will help you determine if the medical case has merit with a brief review), I can help you win your case!

Set up a time on my calendar to be introduced and plan to move forward.  Agree to terms.  Sign the contract, either provided by me or you.  Let me know your budget for time so there are no surprises.  Set up a method to send me the medical records (Dropbox works, but whatever file transfer system you use.).   Communicate the time line, when you need the report, and how you want it communicated (phone or written report).  Communicate best method of communication for questions or concerns (email, phone, etc.).

I can save you time and money, allowing you more time for billable hours.    I know how to review the medical record and find the nuances that you do know understand.  I can find omissions and deletions and red flags with the medical record.

I have access to a large directory of experts from all over the country.  i.e. Doctors And Surgeons, Specialized Nurses, Etc. I would provide you several experts to choose from, and help set up the connection for you.

Rates are available upon request.

Yes.  I have a nursing license covering the majority of the USA, and able to assist attorneys in any state of the country.

Don’t wait too long!   I can help you early on in the process, which ends up saving you much time, and time is money.
